Sura 7   196 Lo! my Protecting Friend is Allah Who revealeth the Scripture. He befriendeth the righteous. 3 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 27 O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not. 28 And when they do some lewdness they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us. Say: Allah, verily, enjoineth not lewdness. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not ? 29 Say: My Lord enjoineth justice. And set your faces upright (toward Him) at every place of worship and call upon Him, making religion pure for Him (only). As He brought you into being, so return ye (unto Him)...

Why and how is mankind moved to think evil and then to do evil?  Sura 2 (100) And when there came unto them an apostle from God, confirming that scripture which was with them, some of those to whom the scriptures were given cast the book of God behind their backs, as if they knew it not: (101) and they followed the device which the devils devised against the kingdom of Solomon, and Solomon was not an unbeliever; but the devils believed not; they taught men sorcery, and that which was sent down to the two angels at Babel, Hárút and Márút; yet those two taught no man until they had said, Verily we are a temptation, therefore be not an unbeliever.  So men learned from those two a charm by which they might cause division between a man and his wife; but they hurt none thereby, unless by God’s permission, and they learned that which would hurt them, and not profit them; and yet they knew that he who bought that art should have no part in the life to come, and woful is the price f...

According to Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s commentary on S2(35) in his translation of the Quran, it was not on earth.  Quote :Was the Garden of Eden a place on this earth? Obviously not. For, in verse 36 below, it was after the Fall that the sentence was pronounced: "On earth will be your dwelling-place." Before the Fall, we must suppose Man to be on another plane altogether-of felicity, innocence, trust, a spiritual existence, with the negation of enmity, want of faith, and all evil.  Unquote Sura 2 35. We said: "O Adam! dwell thou And thy wife in the Garden; And eat of the bountiful things therein As (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, Or ye run into harm and transgression." 36. All will be gathered in the end to give an account of themselves to Allah. Meaning that all living organisms are responsible for their actions. Therefore all must have a conscience, a sense of right and wrong. That implies that all these animals and birds and whatnot can do otherwise than their nature. An exercise in futility! Absolute madness! Will a virus answer as to its efficiency?   Sura 6  (37) There is no kind of beast on earth, nor fowl which flieth with its wings, but the same is a people like unto you : we have not omitted anything in the book of our decrees: then unto their Lord shall they return.
