S16(98) And when thou recitest the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast”. Hence the primary requirement of a Muslim, before anything else, is to recite the Quran. But what of study? How should the Quran be studied? Does it allow for exegetical study? The short answer is negative. The following sura fifteen warns all Muslims to refrain from such studies. Sura 15 89 And say: Lo! The quran states that to every people was sent messengers and apostles and prophets. It is said that 124,000 in all were sent. This is an unbelievable number. For it means that before Muhammad, who is called the last prophet, there were 124,000 people groups in the world, speaking 124,000 different languages, practicing 124,000 different cultures and traditions.Today there is a much greater population on earth  than 1400 years ago and yet not enough people groups  to even come close to that number.
