MECCA 1979: THE MOSQUE SIEAGE THAT CHANGED THE COURSE OF SAUDI HISTORY


It's four decades since a charismatic preacher and his followers staged an armed takeover of the Grand Mosque of Mecca and the holiest place in Islam became a killing field. The resulting siege, writes the BBC's Eli Melki, shook the Muslim world to its foundations and changed the course of Saudi history.

In the early hours of 20 November 1979, some 50,000 faithful from all over the world gathered for dawn prayers in the huge courtyard surrounding the sacred Kaaba in Mecca, Islam's holiest place. Among them mingled 200 men led by a charismatic 40-year-old preacher called Juhayman al-Utaybi.

As, the imam finished leading prayers, Juhayman and his followers pushed him aside and seized the microphone.

They had placed closed coffins in the centre of the yard, a traditional act of seeking blessings for the recently deceased. But when the coffins were opened, they revealed handguns and rifles, which were quickly distributed among the men.   Read up at link:

Zakat is found in the early Medinan suras and described as obligatory for Muslims. FEEDING THE POOR AND THE ORPHANS FOR SALVATION AND SEX IN PARADISE

The purpose of feeding the orphans is to gain entrance into paradise Not at all a definite means of salvation. Jesus said: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. PHARAOH AND HAMAN

Pharaoh and Haman never met. The quran states in S10(37): "And this Qur'an is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind - Therein is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds." But here is one more example of something that never happened. Plagiarism at its worst. Haman, mentioned 6 times in Al-quran, was contemporary with Moses. The biblical Haman was chronologically ahead of Moses. A vizier in the Persian Empire under King Ahasuerus, he was the main antagonist in the book of Esther. Sura 28 1 Ta. Sin. Sura 2 206 And when it is said unto him: Be careful of thy duty to Allah, pride taketh him to sin. Hell will settle his account, an evil resting-place. DEATH OF EVERY SOUL

The Quran states that it confirms the biblical scriptures. On the subject of the soul of a person, it says that every soul shall die. But the Bible states that man is soil and returns to the soil (Genesis 3:19), the spirit returns to God who gave it and the soul is looked after as well.  The Quran has nil knowledge of the three aspects of a person. Sura 3 IN THE NAME OF THE MOST MERCIFUL GOD. (1) A. L. M.
