Jesus The Only Begotten Son Of God

Jesus The Only Begotten Son Of God

The Quran admits that Jesus had not a human father. And also admits that Mary his mother was a virgin; about a 1500 year old virgin being the sister of Aaron!  But it refuses to say that Jesus was begotten. Immediately after narrating the extraordinary story of the conception of Jesus via a virgin woman, and of the birth of Jesus and, also that Jesus spoke as a baby, the quran states in Surah 19(35) that "It is not befitting To (the majesty of) God That He should beget A son. Glory be to Him! When He determines A matter, He only says To it, "Be", and it is". And so also in Surah 39(4) "Had God wished To take to Himself A son, He could have Chosen whom He pleased Out of those whom He Doth create: but Glory Be to Him! (He is above Such things.) He is God, The One, the Irresistible".
Well, God did beget a Son without any sexual activity. Or maybe the real reason that Allah is against the word "begotten" is that Allah itself has limited vocabulary.

The Quranic Account
Surah 19
16 And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East, 17 And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man.
18 She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art God- fearing. 19 He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son. 20 She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste? 21 He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained.

22 And she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place. 23 And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten! 24 Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee, 25 And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee. 26 So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal.

27 Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing. 28 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot. 29 Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy ?

30 He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet, 31 And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive, 32 And (hath made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest. 33 Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!

34 Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt. 35 It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is. 36 And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path.

Another contradiction is that of the death of Jesus. Here Jesus says that he will die and be raised alive S19(33).  But elsewhere in Surah 4:157."That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.";- But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- 158. Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-"

Confused Muhammad: did Jesus die or was he raised alive to Allah without dying?
The Biblical Account
John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hebrews1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much better than the angels as the more excellent name he has inherited is better than theirs. 5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time,

“You are my Son.
Today I have become your father?”Psalm 2:7
and again, “I will be to him a Father,
and he will be to me a Son?”

6 When he again brings in the firstborn
into the world he says,
“Let all the angels of God worship him.
Deuteronomy 32:43 LXX 7 Of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels winds,
and his servants a flame of fire.”Psalm 104:4

8 But of the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The scepter of uprightness is
the scepter of your Kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness
and hated iniquity;therefore God, your God,
has anointed you with the oil of
gladness above your fellows.”Psalm 45:6-7

10 And,“You, Lord, in the beginning, laid
the foundation of the earth.
The heavens are the works of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you continue.
They all will grow old like a garment does.
12 You will roll them up like a mantle,
and they will be changed;
but you are the same.
Your years won’t fail.”Psalm 102:25-27

13 But which of the angels has he told at any time,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies
the footstool of your feet?”Psalm 110:1
14 Aren’t they all serving spirits,
sent out to do service for the sake of
those who will inherit salvation?
